Vélocity partners with public and private organizations to bring free bicycle maintenance education to:
- Local schools
- Low-income and underserved communities without access to a local bicycle shops, and
- Local public organizations relying on safe bicycles to fulfill their civil and community service.
We assist patrons in servicing and maintaining their bicycle by offering a similar service to our Do-It-Yourself.
We provide verbal assistance, and needed tools, replacement parts, and supplies so that they can learn to properly and safely maintain their own bicycle. In 2017, we're proud to have supported 23 pop-up shops in our local area helping thousands of people.
Check out our great work in Washington Post's summary of our East of the Anacostia River bicycle clinic!
We're always looking to support more local organizations interested in Vélocity visiting their location and providing this service. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
