E-Bike Policy
Important information before bringing an e-bike to Vélocity.
These limitations exist due to the fire hazards posed by e-bike batteries. We take this seriously and appreciate your understanding.
Service
Vélocity will provide only simple repairs to non-electronic components of e-bikes while the customer is present. E-bikes cannot be left on Vélocity premises overnight. Vélocity reserves the option to decline repairs based on the structure or condition of the e-bike or mechanics’ availability.
Donations
Vélocity will consider accepting e-bikes for donation on a case-by-case basis after their batteries have been removed. In most cases, batteries will need to be disposed of elsewhere before we can accept the bike.
Battery Disposal Resources
Customers are encouraged to dispose of e-bike batteries through a certified e-bike dealer or their local jurisdiction’s hazardous materials service:
- Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection Center — for Alexandria residents
- Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) facility and selected fire stations — for Arlington residents
