A bike isn’t a luxury — it’s how a lot of people get to work, take their kids to school, and move through their lives. When cost is a barrier, Vélocity steps in.
We refurbish donated bikes and give them away — completely free — to community members who need them. We can often include a helmet and lock too. Recipients have included immigrants, people experiencing housing instability, and folks who need reliable transportation for employment.
One Story
This bicycle scholarship recipient generously encouraged Vélocity to share his story. He has graduated from a rehab program and earned a certification that now allows him to work as a Peer Recovery Specialist helping people struggling with addiction. A bike made a difference. This is one of many stories like it.
