Bike Repair Fair in Chirilagua / Feria de Reparaciones de Bicicletas en Chirilagua

Fix your bike for free! Repair your bicycle, learn one-on-one from a volunteer mentor basic maintenance skills, all on your own two-wheeler. Many locals in Arlandria (Mount Vernon Ave, Alexandria) do not, for what ever reason, keep their bicycles properly maintained. With a volunteer-run fair, anyone can bring his or her bike to the designated location and learn how to fix it through one-on-one volunteer mentoring. Once a month beginning Sunday, October 23. Community Lodgings, a local non-profit group, will host the Bike Repair Fair in Chirilagua. Tools and supplies will be provided by VéloCity Bicycle Cooperative of Alexandria. Volunteers needed! The repair fair needs volunteers with comprehensive Spanish speaking skills. Pablo Munoz of VéloCity Bicycle Cooperative will be offering a free basic bike mechanics class in Spanish for those interested. These courses are free only to those participants interested in providing assistance at the Bike Repair Fair. If we have a volunteer base with Spanish speakers we can get more done. Con esta feria voluntaria, cualquiera persona puede traer su bicicleta a la ubicación designada y aprender cómo arreglar su bicicleta con asistencia uno-en-uno.
